The Game

Flicker in the Dark is a  top-down survival game in a semi fantasy world. The objective is to light 4 pillars while keeping your little fire spirit alive. 

While walking around the map you can find multiple point of interests. On one of them you can find an axe, which you will need to chop down trees and collect its wood. To defeat the enemies you can either use your axe or your stick. 

To keep your fire going you have to collect bushes or wood from the chopped down trees. Throw these into the fire and its HP will go up.  You can also upgrade your fire spirit with the collected rocks, this way he takes less damage from the attacking mages. Be careful, because the mages can kill you too! 

On other point of interests you can find 4 roses. You will need these to light the 4 pillars above your fire spirit. Throw each of them into the fire and the matching pillar will light up. Once all 4 pillars are lit up you win the game!

This game was made in 53 hours for the 2023 Game Jam of DAE. The theme was "fragile".
